The six-day luxury real estate and lifestyle event, which began September 1st and runs through the 6th, is hosted by Olivia Hsu Decker, the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading luxury Realtor and her company, Decker Bullock Sotheby’s International Realty, located in Marin County, California.

According to Decker, the event, "California Luxury, A Prestigioius Lifestyle Event," is designed to introduce potential luxury home buyers to the “sophisticated lifestyle of the San Francisco Bay Area.”  Offering more than just the prestigious addresses of high end real estate listings, participants will experience the lifestyle of these luxury destinations firsthand -- attending the opening nights of the Symphony and the Opera, as well as touring mansions and luxury homes that are represented by Sotheby’s for sale in the dynamic Silicon Valley, City of San Francisco, picturesque Marin County and the world famous California Wine Country.

“This event promises to set a new standard for grand scale event marketing,” she said.  “It truly is a black-tie home buying trip, allowing participants to mingle with San Francisco elites and purchase some of the California’s finest properties,” said Olivia.

Sponsors of this grand scale event include AIG Private Client Group, Bentley, First Republic Bank, Golden Anchor, Steward Asset Management Group, NorthStar Insurance Services, Old Republic Title Company and M.

Sponsor Bentley is providing a fleet of newest Continental Series GT, Flying Spur, and GTC for the clients to test drive while sponsor AIG Private Client Group offers home and car insurances.

Renowned jewelry designer to the stars, Jewelry by Rosalina, will present a Jewelry Show on Sept. 4, just in time for the Opera Ball. Rosalina’s client list includes Giselle Bundchen, Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Danielle Steel, Paris Hilton, Elton John, Orlando Bloom and many others.

Hotels for this event includes Meadowood in Napa Valley, the newly opened Cavallo Point Lodge at the base of Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito, and the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco.

Global Appeal

Invitations were sent to more than 5,000 affluent individuals locally, nationally and internationally as well as VIP clients of the sponsors.

An August 10th, 2008 article in the Real Estate section of the San Francisco Chronicle (San Francisco Chronicle, 8/10/2008, Carolyn Said) noted that the event expects to attract the world's wealthy, with many of the potential buyers expected to be affluent and "mostly from overseas."

According to a report released in early August of this year by the National Association of Realtors, it is estimated that between 150,000 and 190,000 homes in the United States were sold to foreign buyers during the 12-month period from May 2007 to May 2008. The most popular states for foreign buyers were Florida, California and Texas, according to the NAR report. The Chronicle also noted, "The counties with the most high-end sales are no surprise: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Marin."
